BOTOX® For Migraines & Facial Spasms
Botox is for adults with chronic migraines 15 or more days per month, each lasting 4 hours or longer. The injections take about 15 minutes, and feel like tiny pinches or pinpricks. It prevents headaches and migraines before they even start. BOTOX can prevent on average 8 or 9 headache days and migraine days a month by 24 weeks.
Dr. Gonzalez-Portillo gives BOTOX injections every 12 weeks for migraines. It usually takes two treatments, 12 weeks apart to determine how well BOTOX is working for you. If you don’t get treated every 12 weeks, you may not get the full benefit of BOTOX injections. He also uses BOTOX to treat facial spasms.
